Common Questions

Where is my data stored?

All your data is stored locally on your device. Becoming has no servers and no accounts. Your goals, progress, and reflections never leave your device.

Can I recover deleted data?

Once a goal is archived, it can be found in Settings under Archived Goals. However, if a subtask or goal is permanently deleted, it cannot be recovered. We recommend archiving goals instead of deleting them.

Why aren't my widgets updating?

Widgets refresh periodically based on iOS system scheduling. Try removing the widget and re-adding it. Make sure the Becoming app is not force-quit, as this can prevent widget updates.

What is an identity reflection?

On devices running iOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence, Becoming generates personalized reflections about your progress using on-device AI. This processing is entirely private and never leaves your device.

Why am I limited to 3 goals?

Becoming is built around the idea that focus creates identity. By limiting you to 3 active goals, the app encourages you to prioritize what truly matters. You can always archive a goal and start a new one.
